TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Janet Chia (賈永婕), the chairwoman of Taipei 101 (台北101), made her first appearance at the Legislative Yuan on Wednesday (Oct. 16), and announced that this year's New Year's Eve fireworks display will be spectacular and groundbreaking.
Chia expressed her excitement after reviewing the simulated graphics and 3D video of the fireworks, which included a laser show. She assured the public that the display would be both exciting and innovative while maintaining the traditional five-minute duration.
Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) legislator Lai Shyh-bao (賴士葆) expressed concern over complaints about the brevity of the National Day fireworks at Taipei 101 on Oct. 10.
Chia addressed these concerns, suggesting that those who enjoyed the display greatly outnumbered the critics. "It might be a small group of online users with ulterior motives," she commented, implying that not all feedback requires serious consideration.
Chia further emphasized the positive impact of Taipei 101's initiatives, encouraging public support. She further rated the team's effort on the National Day fireworks as 95 out of 100.
