TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) on Monday (Oct. 14) attended the 10th Hua Kuang Award (華冠獎) ceremony, where she praised the 10 awardees for their contributions to society through professional achievements. She expressed hope more women would play pivotal roles in mainstream global society.
Vice President Hsiao personally presented the Hua Kuang Award, with Minister Hsu Chia-ching (徐佳青) of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC, 僑務委員會) and several national policy advisors in attendance.
During her speech, Hsiao emphasized that Taiwanese society takes pride in each outstanding woman's strength and lauded the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women (世界華人工商婦女企管協會) for its contributions to Taiwan's diplomacy and cultural exchanges.
Hsiao noted that the Hua Kuang Award recipients have given back to society through their business achievements amid challenging international economic and trade environments. They have provided a space for other women to learn, support each other, and grow.
She encouraged the awardees to pass on the "4C" spirit, including competence, compassion, confidence, and courage, to the next generation, aiming for a warmer, more prosperous, and resilient society.
