TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Veterans General Hospital (北榮) announced on Monday (Sept. 23) the opening of online appointments for free adult flu and COVID-19 vaccines starting on Sept. 27 (Fri.) at 9 a.m., aiming to streamline the vaccination process and ensure broad access to crucial immunizations.
Health authorities plan to roll out the 2024 COVID-19 and flu vaccines in phases beginning Oct. 1. The first phase targets 11 groups, including seniors aged 65 and above, preschool children, and healthcare and epidemic prevention personnel.
The second phase, starting Nov. 1, will extend COVID-19 vaccines to individuals over six months old not included in the first phase and flu vaccines to adults aged 50-64 without high-risk chronic diseases.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC, 疾管署) urged eligible individuals to promptly schedule their vaccinations. They emphasized the dual protection offered by receiving both the COVID-19 and flu vaccines simultaneously.
To increase accessibility, 74 PX Mart (全聯) and two RT-Mart (大潤發) will set up vaccination stations, offering health gifts to the first 100 recipients.
