TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Peggy Chen (陳佩琪) vowed to clear her husband Ko Wen-je's (柯文哲) name in a video from the Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) posted on Facebook on Tuesday (Sept. 17).
Authorities detained Ko, the former Taipei mayor and TPP chairman, in connection with the controversial Core Pacific case (京華城案) and held him at the Taipei Detention Center (台北看守所).
Chen expressed her determination to support Ko despite being unable to visit him. She remarked that the physical separation has brought them emotionally closer.
In her statement, Chen pledged to wait for Ko outside and cheer for him, emphasizing her commitment to proving his innocence. Chen's message resonated with supporters, urging them to join her in clearing Ko's name.
