KINMEN (TVBS News) — The Kinmen County Government (金門縣府) collaborated with local tourism representatives to enhance the quality of services in anticipation of incoming Chinese tourists on Wednesday (Sept. 11).
The move follows China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism (中國大陸文化及旅遊部) announcement on Aug. 30 that travel for Fujian residents to Kinmen will resume.
The Kinmen County Government's Tourism Department (觀光處) has reviewed and promoted related services to accommodate the influx of Chinese tourists. This includes understanding the application process for travel permits, staffing for document verification, and customs procedures at Shuitou Pier (水頭碼頭).
The Tourism Department met with local tourism representatives to reiterate the guidelines for hosting Chinese tourists and to build a consensus on service standards. The department believes that resuming travel for Fujian residents will bring new opportunities and economic recovery to Kinmen, fostering regional prosperity.
From Sept. 4 to 6, representatives from the Taipei Association of Travel Agents (旅遊公會) and the Taiwan Visitors Association (觀光協會) visited Fuzhou to promote Kinmen tourism. They met with officials from Fujian Province and Xiamen City to discuss the initiative.
Kinmen anticipates a surge in tourism, which could significantly benefit local industries. The county government remains committed to ensuring a high-quality travel experience for Chinese visitors.
