TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Transportation and Communication (MOTC, 交通部) announced on Tuesday (Aug. 20) that the Executive Yuan (行政院) has approved the appointment of former Minister of MOTC Wang Kwo-tsai (王國材) as the new chairman of Chunghwa Post (中華郵政股份有限公司).
The handover ceremony for the eighth chairman will take place on Aug. 21.
The MOTC stated that Wang's extensive experience and leadership skills would drive Chunghwa Post towards innovation and reform. Under Wang's guidance, the ministry aims to enhance the company's service quality and international competitiveness.
Chunghwa Post will host the handover ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 21 at the 10th-floor auditorium of its headquarters on Jinshan S. Rd (金山南路二段). Current Chairman Wu Hong-mo (吳宏謀) and Wang will attend and deliver speeches.
Wang, a Ph.D. graduate from the Department of Transportation and Logistics Management at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU, 國立交通大學), has held key positions at THI Consultants Inc. (鼎漢國際工程顧問公司), the Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government (高雄市政府交通局), iPASS Corporation (一卡通票證股份有限公司), the China Aviation Development Foundation (財團法人中華航空事業發展基金會), Taiwan International Ports Corporation, Ltd. (台灣港務股份有限公司), The Grand Hotel (圓山大飯店), and the MOTC.
