YILAN (TVBS News)—Taiwan's Olympic bronze medal-winning skeet shooter Lee Meng-yuan (李孟遠) expressed optimism about the government's growing support for sports on Tuesday (Aug. 13). He believes the government will improve its planning for shooting sports, including equipment, diet, and materials.
Lee shared his joy at the Sifanglin Shooting Range in Yilan (宜蘭四方林靶場), where he often trains. He remarked, " I feel good every time I finish training here," and humorously referred to himself as "Wreck-It Lee" due to frequently breaking beds and air conditioners at the facility.
Lee hopes Taiwan will become more open to shooting sports within legal regulations. He cited Italy as an example, where the sport is popular and accessible with minimal expense.
Lee resumed training for the Taipei International Grand Prix (台北大獎賽) a day earlier, marking his next competitive target. He acknowledged the challenges of qualifying for the next Olympics and pledged to continue his efforts.
