TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's B-Boy Sun Chen (孫振) will continue his European tour after competing in the Olympics, which concluded on Sunday (Aug. 11). Despite not advancing to the top eight, Sun will participate in the international hip-hop dance festival, The Notorious IBE, in the Netherlands from Aug. 16-18 and another major event, OutBreak Europe, in Slovakia at the end of the month.
Sun faced tough competition in Paris but expressed his determination to keep dancing. At 24, Sun made history as Taiwan's first Olympic-breaking competitor and served as a flag bearer at the opening ceremony alongside Taiwanese badminton ace Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎).
Breaking debuted as an official Olympic sport in Paris but will not feature in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The inclusion of breaking in the 2032 Brisbane Olympics remains to be determined. However, breaking will be part of the Asian Games for two consecutive editions, including the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games.
