PARIS (TVBS News) — Taiwanese boxer Chen Nien-chin (陳念琴) fought valiantly in the women's 66kg semifinals against China's Yang Liu (楊柳) on Tuesday (Aug. 6) at the Olympic Games but ultimately lost 4-1, securing a bronze medal.

Chen, who aimed for gold, expressed her determination to keep fighting for the top spot in future competitions and thanked her supporters.

During the match, Yang started aggressively, but Chen countered, leading 5-0 after the first round. In the second round, Yang intensified her attacks, and the score shifted to 4-1 in Yang's favor. Despite Chen's relentless effort, Yang maintained her advantage in the decisive third round, concluding the match with a 4-1 victory.

Chen remained optimistic post-match, stating, "I really enjoy this stage. I know that it's not easy to go through three Games. I also know the efforts the coaching staff and our whole team have put in."

Chen mentioned her aspiration to compete in the Los Angeles Olympics in four years, aiming to continue her quest for gold alongside fellow boxer Wu Shih-yi (吳詩儀). "I think it's not easy for me to be on the field, and I hope this blessing will continue to be passed on to the next generation of athletes."
