TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwna's badminton duo Lee Yang (李洋) and Wang Chi-lin's (王齊麟) last match together will be at the Taipei Open from Sept. 3 to Sept. 8 at Taipei Arena.
The pair defended their title in the men's doubles badminton final at the Olympic Games on Sunday (Aug. 4). This victory marks a significant milestone as it was Lee's last Olympic appearance, and he plans to continue promoting badminton by teaching at the National Taiwan Sport University and National Sun Yat-sen University.
The Taipei Open, Taiwan's most prestigious international badminton tournament, will also serve as the pair's retirement match. Local media reported that Tai Tzu-ying (戴資穎) has registered to compete, but her participation remains uncertain due to her injuries.
Tai won her fifth title at last year's Taipei Open, setting the record for the most championships in the women's singles category. Fans eagerly await her potential return and the final performance of the iconic duo, Lee and Wang, at the upcoming Taipei Open.
