PARIS (TVBS News) — Chou Tien-chen (周天成), Taiwan's top Men's Singles badminton player, faced a tough defeat on Friday (Aug. 2) in the Paris Games. Chou lost 1-2 to India's Lakshya Sen, ending his bid for a spot in the semifinals.

Chou started strong, winning the first game 21-19. However, Sen turned the tide, taking the second game 21-15 and the third 21-12. This marked a significant shift, as Chou had previously held a 3-1 record against Sen.

Before this match, Chou, ranked 12th globally, had shown impressive form. He triumphed in straight sets against Mexico's Luis Ramon Garrido and Hong Kong's Lee Yiu (李卓耀) in the preliminary rounds and defeated Japan's Naraoka Kodai (奈良岡功大) in the round of 16.

Sen, ranked 22nd, had a remarkable journey. In the preliminary rounds, he upended Indonesia's Jonatan Christie, an Asian Games gold medalist, and defeated his compatriot, Prannoy H. S., in the round of 16.

Chou's performance in Paris marked his third Olympic appearance. Fans and analysts will now look to see how he prepares for future competitions as his resilience and skill continue to inspire.
