TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwanese men's archery team secured a spot in the Olympic quarterfinals on Monday (July 29) after winning three consecutive sets. Archers Tang Chih-chun (湯智鈞), Tai Yu-hsuan (戴宇軒), and Lin Tzu-hsiang (林子翔) will face China tonight at 8:15 p.m. Taiwan time to compete for a place in the semifinals.

Taiwan's men's archery team won a silver medal at the previous Olympic Games, tying the best record in team history, so this competition is highly anticipated.

Tang, who led the team, finished fourth in the individual event during the last Olympics. Lin, Tang's middle school classmate, and Tai, a promising newcomer hailed as Tang's successor, complete the trio.

In the first set, Tang shot two consecutive 10s, leading the team to a 54-53 victory. The team scored an impressive 58 points in the second set, with all three archers hitting 10s. Tai secured the third set with a 10, contributing to a total of 55 points, which led to a 6-0 win over Great Britain and advanced the team to the quarterfinals.

As the team prepares to face China, the nation eagerly awaits whether they can continue their winning streak and secure a place in the semifinals.
