TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Mayor Chiang Wan-an participated in the opening ceremony of the Neihu and Nankang Software Park bus routes on Wednesday (July 3). He highlighted the establishment of a tech corridor in Taipei, integrating Neihu, Nankang, and the Beitou-Shilin Technology Park.
Meanwhile, President Lai Ching-te attended the Gangshan MRT Station opening ceremony in Kaohsiung, pledging to promote balanced development across Taiwan. He emphasized his commitment to the central and southern regions, addressing the historical bias towards the north.
President Lai believes the most advanced industries will migrate to central and southern Taiwan. This shift aims to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities in these regions.
In response to Lai's comment, Mayor Chiang noted that Neihu serves as a model for private investment in urban planning in Taiwan. He envisions a tech corridor combining Neihu, Nankang, and Beitou-Shilin, fostering innovation and growth.
Mayor Chiang emphasized Taipei's concentration of talent and leading universities. Taipei's startups account for 55% of Taiwan's total, supported by extensive industry supply chains.
Mayor Chiang stated that Taipei City has the best conditions for industrial investment, including location advantages, supporting facilities, convenient transportation, education, and living conditions.
