TAIPEI (TVBS News)—A grand musical event, the "2024 Presidential Office Concert—The Power of Freedom," co-hosted by the Presidential Office and the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC, 中華文化總會), will take place at the National Theater and Concert Hall (NTCH, 兩廳院) Main Plaza (藝文廣場) on July 20 at 7 p.m., with free admission for the public.
The promotional video for the concert was launched on Tuesday (July 2), featuring an invitation from Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) to the public to enjoy the concert and support Taiwan's athletes. Six Taiwanese boxers heading to the 2024 Paris Olympics are the promotion theme, with new cast members including singer Shen Wen-cheng (沈文程), Fire EX. (滅火器) guitarist Cheng Yu-chen (鄭宇辰), and host Hsu Chan-yuan (徐展元), alongside Vice President Hsiao.
The concert boasts nearly 30 groups of artists and performance groups, with the new cast also including host Sandra, Veteran rocker Luantan A-hsiang (乱彈阿翔), and singer Shao Ta-lun (邵大倫).
The hosting team is comprised of Hsu Chan-yuan and Sandra, a former lead singer of an electronic music group. Hsu, who hails from Meinong (美濃) and is fluent in Hakka, will be paired with Sandra, a renowned bilingual host and English teacher. Their multilingual capabilities are expected to contribute to this diverse cultural event's smooth rhythm and overall success.
"2024 Presidential Office Concert - The Power of Freedom" will be held at the NTCH Main Plaza at 7 p.m. on the 20th, with free entry for the public. The concert will also be broadcast live on television and online platforms.
