TAIPEI (TVBS News)—The U.S. News & World Report recently released its "2025 Best Global Universities" rankings, with Taiwan's private universities, China Medical University (中國醫藥大學) and Asia University (亞洲大學), joining National Taiwan University (國立台灣大學) in the top 1,000 educational institutions worldwide.
The rankings featured 2,250 universities from 104 countries, with 11 Taiwanese universities making the top 1,000.
China Medical University trailed only National Taiwan University, securing the second spot among Taiwanese institutions. Other Taiwanese universities listed include National Tsing Hua University (國立清華大學) at 509, National Cheng Kung University (國立成功大學), and National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University (國立陽明交通大學) tied at 623, and Asia University at 755.
In the domestic rankings, China Medical University emerged as the top private university in Taiwan, closely followed by Asia University. Dr. Tsai Chang-hai, founder of Asia University," stated that these global rankings indicate the universities' globalization efforts. He added, "We will strive to become internationally renowned institutions and cultivate global talents for international development."
Asia University has made the list four times in the past decade in various world university rankings, including the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities, and QS World University Rankings.
The university's president, Jeffrey Tsai (蔡進發), emphasized not only the importance of academic excellence but also students' cross-disciplinary abilities and employability.
