TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Early Friday (June 28) morning, a small-scale convective cloud system appeared in Taiwan's central region, indicating a shift towards an unstable atmospheric environment. Although the occurrence was brief and limited in scope, it led to thunderstorms.
Weather Risk's Ou Tsung-hsueh (歐宗學) noted that as the environmental wind direction changes to a southerly wind, rainfall hotspots will expand to the plains of the central, northern, and northeastern regions.
Ou warned that afternoon weather changes could affect activities in mountainous areas or along riverbeds, advising people to seek shelter indoors upon hearing thunder in open spaces.
Hot Temperatures Expected
In the absence of rain, high temperatures of 34-36 degrees Celsius are expected across various regions. Those engaging in outdoor activities for extended periods should take precautions against sunburn and stay hydrated to avoid heat-related injuries.
From Sunday to Monday, with the wind direction shifting from south to southwest, sporadic cloud systems from the sea could bring localized, brief showers to the central and southern regions, more likely during the morning and evening hours.
Upcoming Weather Changes
By next Tuesday, the Pacific high-pressure system will begin to strengthen again, changing the environmental wind direction to the southeast.
This could lead to brief, localized showers in the southeast, with potential afternoon thunderstorms in mountainous areas and the western half of the region.
According to Ou's analysis, similar atmospheric conditions could persist until next weekend, continuing the pattern of high daytime temperatures and potential thunderstorms in the afternoon.
