TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Temperatures across Taiwan are expected to rise significantly on Friday (May 10), with some areas reaching 30 degrees Celsius, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA). However, the warm weather is only expected to last until Saturday, with thunderstorms forecasted for next week.

The CWA stated that the northeast monsoon affecting Taiwan has noticeably weakened since Friday, with wind direction shifting from the east to southeast. This shift will result in a significant day-night temperature difference, with highs expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius.

Despite the weakening of the northeast monsoon, the shift to easterly winds could lead to the accumulation of pollutants, particularly in the western half of the island.

Saturday's weather is expected to be similar, with wind direction shifting from southeast to south. Temperatures are expected to rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius, with extreme highs of 35-36 degrees Celsius possible in the mountainous regions of the south.

However, significant weather changes are expected on Sunday, with the arrival of a front bringing increased humidity and instability. This will result in sporadic showers across the country. People are urged to stay updated about the weather conditions.
