TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Wu Yi-hsuan (吳怡萱), spokesperson for the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), confirmed on Thursday (May 9) that party chairman Ko Wen-je has received and accepted an invitation to attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Lai Ching-te (賴清德) and Vice President-elect Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) on May 20.
Contrastingly, Eric Chu (朱立倫), chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), revealed on the same day that he had not received an invitation to the event, sparking widespread attention.

Wu further elaborated that while the TPP had received invitations to the inauguration ceremony, the celebration, and dinner in Tainan, Ko plans to only attend the celebration.
