Tang has initiated the transition process, assuring that Huang, the executive director of Academia Sinica's Research Center for Information Technology Innovation, is well-versed in cybersecurity, AI, and privacy-enhancing technologies.
Huang's academic credentials include a master's and doctorate in information science from the University of Maryland and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University.
Tang highlighted the importance of the Electronic Signatures Act and the Cyber Security Management Act, both of which are expected to be passed soon. She expressed hope that the legislation would be presented to the Legislative Yuan before May 20, allowing Huang to implement the laws upon taking office.
