TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) announced Friday (April 19) that despite brief showers across the region, rainfall will be minimal. Afternoon showers are expected in mountainous areas.
Temperatures in the north are expected to rise to between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius on Friday. The weekend is forecasted to be the best weather of the week, with less humidity and mostly sunny skies. A shift to southwest winds will push temperatures above 30 degrees across the region.
In the southern mountainous areas and Taitung, temperatures could exceed 36 degrees. The CWA issued a special warning for Taitung, where there is a chance of foehn winds. Brief showers are expected in the northeastern region and other mountainous areas in the afternoon.
The next weather front is expected to approach on Monday, bringing brief showers to the northern, northeastern and central mountainous regions. Afternoon showers are also expected in mountainous areas.
