TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Many areas in Taoyuan experienced power interruptions early Thursday (April 18）, and 9,954 households were affected. Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) is working to bring the power back.
Taipower explained the reasons for power outages on Longtan, Sanlin, Daping, and Minyou Road: during thunderstorms, bamboo brushes against high-voltage switches, severing the power line.
All 4,605 families had their electricity back by 9:38 a.m.
Regarding Zhongzheng and Zhongxing Road, Taipower said that a strong thunderstorm caused the feeder line to jump off, reducing power to 5,332 households. The issue was bypassed by 9:46 a.m., with all households having had their electricity restored.
