TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A suspected food poisoning case was reported at the Beitou Gongguan branch of Bafang Yunji, a popular food chain in Taiwan on Monday (April 8). After completing the inspection, the health department stated that this was a suspected case and the restaurant could continue to operate normally.
According to media reports, customers who purchased corn soup and potstickers from the restaurant experienced vomiting and diarrhea after consumption. They sought medical attention and reported a suspected case of food poisoning.
During the inspection, the health department found that the fan and shelves in the restaurant's freezer were not clean. The department has issued a deadline for improvements and collected three samples from the restaurant environment for testing.
Bafang Yunji stated that the restaurant has promptly made the necessary improvements as directed by the health department. The restaurant is also cooperating with the health authorities to clarify the food preparation process and related sampling operations.
Bafang Yunji emphasized that it is still unclear whether this is a case of shared family meal or individual cases. The restaurant has requested the health department's assistance in determining whether the discomfort was caused by the food or other factors.
