TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) said Tuesday (April 2) that the People's Republic of China announced a carrier rocket is set to launch from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on Wednesday (April 3). The rocket is expected to pass through Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
In addition, from 6 a.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, the MND detected six PLA aircraft, with the closest reaching 60 nautical miles from Keelung. Among these, two Chinese aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.
During the same period, seven PLAN vessels were continuously operating around Taiwan, according to the MND.
The Taiwanese military is closely monitoring the situation and responding with CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and land-based missile systems. The MND is maintaining a high level of vigilance to ensure national security and regional stability.
