TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The first phase of the university application screening results for the 2024 academic year were announced on Thursday (March 28), with 78,187 applicants and 63,449 passing, a pass rate of 81.15%, the lowest in the past three years.
According to the College Admissions Committee, there were 51,499 slots available for the 2024 academic year, with 78,187 applicants, a slight decrease of 2,075 from the previous year.
On average, each applicant applied to 5.58 preferred departments and passed an average of 2.82 department screenings, a slight decrease from the 2023 academic year's average of 2.96.
Those who pass the first screening phase must participate in the second phase of designated item screening. Universities will send or announce screening notifications and related information to the applicants who passed the screening.
