TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Vice President-elect Hsiao Bi-khim revealed on the social media platform Threads on Tuesday (March 26) that her cat enjoys sitting in the middle of her documents, a post that attracted over 10,000 likes.
Hsiao returned to Taiwan this week after a pre-inauguration visit to Europe, only to find that her feline friend had taken over her paperwork.
Many social media users responded by sharing photos of their own pets or jokingly demanding photographic evidence of Hsiao's claim.
The Vice President-elect's recent trip to Europe followed a visit to the United States earlier this month. She traveled to Central European countries, including the Czech Republic, Poland, and Lithuania.
During her visit, Hsiao delivered a speech at a European think tank on the topic of "Democracy and Security." She called for stronger cooperation on various levels between Europe and Taiwan, particularly in forming a democratic alliance.
This trip marked the first time a Taiwanese vice president-elect has been invited to visit Europe before taking office, a move seen as a significant breakthrough that has drawn widespread attention.
Upon her return to Taiwan, Hsiao is set to join Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party and President-elect Lai Ching-te at the party's spring banquet, where both are expected to give speeches.
