TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Asia's premier trade show, the 11th Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE), is set to kick off on March 19 in Taipei and March 22 in Kaohsiung. Organizers expect to attract over 150,000 visitors and nearly 1,000 exhibitors, making it a landmark experience.
Centered around “Digital and Green Transformation,” this year's showcase presents AI-related solutions, 5G network innovations, and cutting-edge technologies dedicated to reaching the 2050 net-zero goal.
In the opening remarks of the pre-show conference on Tuesday (March 12), Jason Chen, chairman of the Taiwan Smart City Solutions Alliance, emphasized three highlights of this year’s event. He said, “Firstly, the number of overseas visitors will reach a record high, as over 2,000 international visitors from 112 cities in 46 countries will come to Taiwan for the event.”
"Secondly, AI applications and utilizations can be seen everywhere. Lastly, the concept of net zero emissions is more than a good thing for the environment, it is also a good business,” Chen added.
Expressing ambitions to bring Taiwan to the global stage via the exhibition, Kao Shien-quey, deputy minister of the National Development Council, stated, “We can serve as a platform for international exchanges and cooperation. By combining domestic and foreign resources and strength, we hope to transform Taiwan into a leader in providing digital and green solutions in Asia and the world.”
Also attending the conference, Taipei Deputy Mayor Lee Shu-chuan highlighted the city government’s participation and stressed the presented AI solutions at the expo can help propel the capital’s AI-driven future, as "it outlines Taipei Mayor Chiang’s policy objectives on ‘safety, sports, and advanced technologies.'"
