TAIPEI (TVBS News) — In response to accusations of being "extremely cold-blooded" by Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson of China's Taiwan Affairs Office, Minister of Taiwan's Ocean Affairs Council Kuan Bi-ling reached out to touch a reporter's face Friday (March 1), saying, "Check my body temperature."
The dispute in the Kinmen-Xiamen oceanic area continues and as many question of whether radar flight path diagrams can reconstruct the sequence of events, Kuan assured the public that all data is in the hands of the prosecutors and that Taiwan’s judiciary is very trustworthy.
A general policy inquiry was conducted in the Legislative Yuan today, with Premier Chen Chien-jen leading other Cabinet officials to be on standby for questioning.
Regarding the negotiation, Kuan expressed optimism, suggesting that a calm environment could allow for meaningful discussions.
She believes that the matter should be resolved quickly, and viewed the tribulations encountered in the process as worthy case studies for the development of cross-strait relations.
She anticipated numerous in-depth professional studies to be carried out afterward, expressing hopes for positive developments.
