TAIPEI (TVBS News) — U.S. Congressman Mike Gallagher, chairman of the House of Representatives select committee on China, led a delegation to visit the Legislative Yuan on Thursday (Feb. 22) and was received by Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu and Deputy Speaker Johnny Chiang.
During the meeting, Han, in English, heartily welcomed the delegation and individually greeted the group, remarking, "Welcome to Taiwan."
Han also presented Gallagher with traditional Spring Couplets as a gift. Furthermore, he invited Gallagher to pose for a photo together, praising the U.S. congressman for his youthful appearance, a comment that drew laughter from Gallagher.
Following these initial exchanges, the group proceeded to a closed-door meeting.
