TAIPEI (TVBS News) — South Korean star Yoona from the popular K-pop group "Girls' Generation" held a fan meet on Sunday (Feb. 4) at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). Her Mandarin-language performance earned rousing applause from the audience.
The event drew the participation of 3,000 fans. Speaking fluent Mandarin, Yoona said, "How are you, everyone? I remember the fanmeet here with SONE (nickname for the fanbase of 'Girls' Generation') in 2018. It's been a long time, it’s good to have fun today!"
She also sang the theme song 'Remembered' from the popular Taiwanese drama "Someday or One Day" at the fanmeet. Her rendition elicited enthusiastic applause from attendees.
Several lucky fans were chosen to join Yoona for interactions and photo opportunities, with one awestruck fan being too shy to speak. Another fan confessed their wish to "see Yoona playing more different roles." Responding with a light-hearted joking tone, Yoona expressed a desire to try a variety of roles, especially a "beautiful villain."
While in Taipei, Yoona sampled the Taiwanese sausage with sticky rice. The organizers also presented her with a local delicacy, the 'sweet potato balls.'
