TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) legislative speaker and deputy speaker candidates, Han Kuo-yu and Johnny Chiang, are scheduled to meet with the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) caucus and eight lawmakers on Monday (Jan. 29).
Han Kuo-yu and Johnny Chiang will meet TPP's lawmakers Huang Shan-shan and Huang Kuo-chang, among others.
The dialogue is expected to commence at 9 a.m. and wrap up approximately 35 minutes later, followed by a media conference outside the Legislative Yuan's TPP Caucus front door.
Following the legislative elections on Jan. 13 that failed to produce a clear majority among three parties, the TPP has emerged as a key minority.
However, the party has kept silent on its support, with TPP Chairman Ko Wen-je not declaring his stance on backing either the incumbent Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidates or the KMT for the legislative speaker race.
The TPP has launched four demands for parliamentary reform, advocating for transparency and openness in political values.
