KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — Kaohsiung's Siaogang Senior High School is hosting the karate team from the City University of Hong Kong from Jan. 4 to 8 for a technical exchange and practical learning session. This event aims to enhance skills and proficiency among the students.
Yun-Yuan Yen, director of student affairs and coach of Siaogang High's karate team, praised the exchange for its role in improving real-life proficiency and pressure-resistance skills among participants. Principal Hsueh Yu-chin also extended a warm welcome to the guests from Hong Kong, highlighting the value of sports exchanges in fostering growth and learning.
Siaogang High, with a strong legacy in karate since its team's founding in 2000, has developed a robust program that includes competition management and training. The school has produced national team athletes who have won various accolades. Under the "108 Curriculum," the school supports students in the sports class in achieving multi-dimensional development.
Principal Hsueh lauded the karate team's accomplishments and stressed the importance of international exchanges in enhancing both technical skills and personal character. She expressed hope for the students to further advance onto the international athletic stage.
