TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an discussed the government's efforts on Tuesday (Jan. 2) to bring Taylor Swift's concert to the city after previous attempts were thwarted by geopolitical tensions.
In an interview with local media, Chiang revealed ongoing negotiations to make a Taylor Swift concert a reality during her Asian Tour later this year, potentially at the Taipei Dome.
Chiang stressed that the city government is committed to this goal and will announce developments once initial talks produce results.
During his remarks, Chiang criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and called on the central government to create a peaceful, stable, prosperous, and safe environment, asserting that the Kuomintang (KMT) is the best choice for this mission.
Despite challenges, Chiang emphasized his team's dedication to the public's interests and rights, welcoming a concert he believes would benefit Taipei economically.
