TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei City Construction Management Office imposed a NT$10,000 fine on Kuomintang (KMT) legislative candidate Wang Hung-wei's campaign for a billboard violation in Taipei's third constituency, announced on Thursday (Dec. 28).
The office requested immediate rectifications from Wang's team.
The office also found Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te in breach of size regulations for two campaign materials. Lai's campaign is expected to receive a fine notice by next Wednesday.
These actions mark the first enforcement of Taipei's updated campaign material regulations, established last year for the 2024 presidential and legislative elections.
The office has reported 34 campaign advertisement violations to date, including 11 involving the KMT and 19 the DPP. The office emphasized the importance of adherence to these regulations, aiming to ensure a clean election process in the city.
