TAINAN (TVBS News) — The highly-anticipated '2023 Tainan Christmas Rock Concert' will take center stage on Saturday evening (Dec. 23) with a slate of star-studded performances. Wheein, from the popular South Korean girl group MAMAMOO, will be the concert's highlight.
Other notable performers included Taiwanese singers Yoga Lin, OSN, Kasiwa, bands Accusefive and Mixer, Singaporean singer-songwriter Boon Hui Lu, and Dutch singers Martin Hurkens and Marjolein. Hurkens is a renowned figure in the Netherlands, who won the Dutch Got Talent in 2010.
Wheein is celebrated for her vocal prowess, particularly for her renditions in multiple television drama soundtracks. Among them are 'With My Tears' from 'Hospital Playlist' and 'Shine On You' from 'Record of Youth.'
Wheein, who had visited Taiwan many times, expressed her anticipation for the performance in a video message. She invited her fans to recommend local Tainan delicacies for her to try during her stay.
The concert officially kicked off at 6:30 p.m. at the western plaza of the Tainan City Government Yonghua Civic Center. Fans and local residents were invited to join the festive Christmas celebration.
