TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Starlux Airlines announced on Wednesday (Dec. 20) that starting from Dec. 23, it would participate in the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck program.
The airlines' pre-screening initiative allows qualified passengers to experience expedited security checks when departing to, or transiting through, the United States at airports, including those in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Eligible travelers on Starlux flights to the U.S. will benefit from the convenience of a dedicated security lane where they do not have to remove shoes, belts, or light jackets. Furthermore, electronics and liquids can remain in their carry-on luggage during the security check.
Passengers eligible for PreCheck will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN), which they can provide when booking flights through Starlux's official website, add on their travel management page, inform travel agents and customer service, or supply during airport check-in to access the expedited security service.
The airline highlighted that the PreCheck program not only reduces the time and procedures at security checkpoints but also extends the benefits to accompanying children aged 12 and under, who can also use the TSA PreCheck lanes.
TSA PreCheck is a service established by the TSA for expedited security screening and is available at over 200 airports throughout the United States.
