YUNLIN (TVBS News) — The Yunlin County Government announced on Wednesday (Dec. 20) that its TPASS ticket, priced at NT$199, went on sale today and will become active next Tuesday.
In a move to streamline public transportation and offer an economical solution for commuters, the TPASS integrates various modes of public transportation within the county, including Taiwan Railway, highway buses, local city buses, and public bicycles.
Dubbed the "Yunlin TPASS," the pass permits unlimited use for 30 days, covering 69 highway and city bus routes and five Taiwan railway stations: Linnei, Shihliu, Douliu, Dounan, and Shigui.
Pass holders will also benefit from the first 30 minutes of public bicycle use without charge, the County Government stated.
Chang Li-shan, Yunlin County commissioner, remarked that its TPASS is tied with Hualien for the lowest-priced monthly transit pass nationwide, covering the most extensive range of transit routes within a single county or city.
To celebrate the TPASS launch, an exclusive promotion for pass holders is being offered, including a special deal for the journey from Douliu Train Station to Janfusun Theme Park.
Ticket holders can take advantage of a "buy one, get one free" offer for two people traveling together, simply by presenting their TPASS ticket stub at the time of purchase.
