TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's National Land Management Agency (NLMA), under the Ministry of the Interior, reminded the public on Wednesday (Dec. 20) that the application period for the "Mortgage Assistance Program for Low-and-Middle-Income Homeowners" will close next Friday.
Since the program began accepting applications on June 1, the NLMA revealed that there has been enthusiastic participation.
By the end of November, over 730,000 households applied, with more than 460,000 qualifying to receive the subsidy, the agency shared.
The NLMA has disclosed that the project was expected to benefit 550,000 households with middle to low-incomes taking out mortgages, and there are still places available for applicants as of Wednesday.
Financial institutions have been requested by the agency to inform eligible customers through text messages, emails, or loan payment receipts.
Applicants are required to fill out basic information online without the need to attach documentation. Upon approval of their application, a one-time payment of NT$30,000 will be disbursed.
