TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Taoyuan Mayor Simon Chang announced on Wednesday (Dec. 20) that the 150 millionth passenger on the Taoyuan Airport MRT would receive a free yearlong TPass, valued at NT$14,400.
The TPass, introduced over five months ago, has seen strong usage with a record daily ridership of 106,000 passengers in November, according to Taoyuan Metro Co.
The 150 millionth rider and five accompanying passengers will be awarded the TPass, offering unlimited travel in northern Taiwan and enhancing their transport convenience.
To streamline entry and exit procedures, Taoyuan Metro Co. has upgraded turnstile equipment in anticipation of reaching this milestone by the weekend.
Additionally, to address rush hour congestion, starting this Friday, two additional commuter trains will run between A1 Taipei Main Station and Airport Terminal 2, and two express trains will run between A21 Huanbei Station and A1 Taipei Main Station.
These enhancements reflect Taoyuan Metro Co.'s commitment to improving the travel experience for its users.
