KINMEN(TVBS News) — Due to strong wind forces, the Kinmen County Harbor Bureau announced a suspension of ferry services on Saturday (Dec. 16), cautioning travelers planning to make the cross-strait journey to stay informed.
The bureau forecasts that services could resume around noon, but adjustments will be made on a rolling basis according to the maritime wind conditions, with further notice to be given.
Gale-force winds reaching level eight were recorded around 8 a.m. earlier that day at the Shuitou pier, prompting a temporary halt to the "small three links" route between Xiamen and Kinmen.
Officials from the harbor bureau have indicated that the windy weather over the past few days could potentially disrupt ferry schedules.
Passengers are advised to check for the latest travel updates and make alternative arrangements as necessary.
