TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A delegation of 16 Taiwanese food suppliers, led by General Chamber of Commerce (ROCCOC) Chairman Paul Hsu, embarked on a mission to explore the Australian market last Thursday (Dec. 7).
The "Procurement Meetings of 2023 Taiwan Food Industries Delegation to Australia" took place last week, where Hsu participated in business matchmaking events held in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
This initiative aims to enhance the global presence of Taiwanese food products, improve competitiveness, and foster economic cooperation between Taiwan and Australia.
According to a report by United Daily News (UDN), Hsu emphasized the complementary nature of Taiwan and Australia's industries, given their contrasting seasons, with Taiwan in the northern hemisphere and Australia in the southern hemisphere.
While the delegation has secured orders worth US$3.7 million, Hsu remains optimistic, believing that ongoing communication with Australian distributors will lead to further trade opportunities.
