TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A recent poll released on Friday (Dec. 8) by ETtoday shows the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Lai Ching-te and Hsiao Bi-khim leading the race, with the Kuomintang (KMT) candidates Hou Yu-ih and Jaw Shaw-kong closely trailing by 5.2 percentage points.
The survey places the Lai-Hsiao ticket at 39% support, slightly up from 37.4% on Nov. 30.
The Hou-Jaw ticket experienced a drop from 36.3% to 33.8% support, while the Taiwan People's Party's (TPP) Ko Wen-je and Cynthia Wu, the Ko-Wu ticket, also saw a decrease in their support from 19.6% to 18.1%.
Despite the shifts in percentages, DPP's Lai and Hsiao currently maintain a tangible lead over their KMT and TPP competitors.
The survey, conducted on Dec. 6-7, focused on residents aged at least 20. With a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of plus or minus 2.77%, the poll included responses from 1,251 valid participants.
