TAICHUNG (TVBS News) — KMT's vice-presidential candidate, Jaw Shau-kong, appealed for unity within the Kuomintang (KMT) on Thursday (Dec. 7) and urged business tycoon Terry Gou to support the party, making a public plea for his return to consolidate votes.
Jaw mentioned recent attempts to contact Gou, which went to voicemail, but he committed to continuing outreach efforts.
During his participation in the inaugural meeting of the Taichung Women's Support Group at Hou Yu-ih's campaign headquarters in Taichung, Jaw discussed the strategy called "The Battle for Central Taiwan."
He stressed the importance of this regional battleground and expressed confidence in achieving victory in the presidential race by drawing support in the south, winning in the north, and securing backing in the central region.
Jaw highlighted the central region, which includes Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, and Chiayi City, as key to his winning strategy, given its female leadership.
