TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Global fast-food giant McDonald's announced on Wednesday (Dec. 7) plans to add around 10,000 new restaurants by the end of 2027, and aims to attract an additional 100 million members.
To achieve this ambitious expansion, McDonald's will open 900 new outlets in the U.S., 1,900 in International Operated Markets (IOM), and around 7,000 in International Developmental Licensed (IDL) markets.
The company expects its membership to surge from 150 million to 250 million, bolstered by the "MyMcDonald's Rewards" program which has generated sales exceeding US$20 billion over the past year.
McDonald's currently operates 41,198 restaurants worldwide, according to the company's latest quarterly financial report.
