TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Democratic Progressive Party presidential candidate Lai Ching-te accompanied eight Taipei legislative candidates to register at the Central Election Committee (CEC) on Wednesday (Nov. 22), rallying their spirits with campaign slogans, such as "8 seats to victory" and "Team Taipei! Let's home run!"
Having completed his registration with vice-presidential running mate Hsiao Bi-khim a day earlier, Lai expressed his hopes of hitting a political "home run" with the eight DPP legislative candidates.
With confidence, Lai said that despite the chaotic global situation, they are ready to lead Taiwan steadily forward.
The DPP legislative hopefuls include Rosalia Wu, Wang Shi-chien, Hsieh Pei-fen, Kao Chia-yu, Wu Pei-yi, Hsu Shu-hua, Wang Min-sheng, and Social Democratic Party ally, Miao Po-ya.
During his speech, Lai called on each legislative candidate to go to bat vigorously and to collaborate effectively to secure all eight seats.
He conveyed that by achieving this goal, they could easily secure a majority in the legislature, which he believes will make Taipei — and indeed all of Taiwan — even better.
