SAN FRANCISCO (TVBS News) — Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden met on Wednesday (Nov. 15) in San Francisco, where Xi denied any plans for military action against Taiwan in 2027 or 2035.

According to a senior White House official, Xi emphasized that Taiwan is the most significant and potentially threatening issue in U.S.-China relations during the meeting with Biden.

Meanwhile, Biden underscored the U.S.'s longstanding position of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, expressing a desire to maintain the status quo and requesting that China respect Taiwan's election process.

In response, Xi stated while peace is desirable, sometimes broader solutions need to be sought.

The Chinese leader also dispelled wide speculations of Beijing planning military action against Taiwan in 2027 or 2035, claiming, "There is no such plan, and no one has told me about this."
