TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Popular entertainer Yu Tian celebrated the birth of his granddaughter early Tuesday (Nov. 14), marking a joyous occasion for his family. His son, Ken Yu, became a father, adding to the family's happiness.
Yu Tian, upon hearing the news of the birth at 7 a.m., rushed to the hospital to join his son. There, the two shared a joint interview, both displaying radiant smiles.
This birth holds special significance for Yu Tian and his wife, Lee Ya-ping.
They previously mentioned that the newborn's arrival seemed to them like bringing Yu Yuan-chi, their late daughter, back to life. Yu Yuan-chi passed away at the age of 39 from rectal cancer at Taipei Veterans General Hospital on Aug. 21, 2022.
Despite the joy, Yu Tian was overcome with emotion when his late daughter was mentioned during the hospital visit. Visibly moved, he expressed his deep longing for her and requested to avoid further discussion about her loss.
In a happier context, Yu Tian joyfully announced his new status as a grandfather. He declared his intention to gift his granddaughter a significant red envelope, a traditional Chinese gesture of celebration, promising it would contain a six-figure sum.
