TAIPEI (TVBS News) — As TSMC Founder Morris Chang will again represent Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen at the APEC summit in San Francisco in mid-Nov., he has been tasked with four missions, including promoting regional peace and resilience in supply chains.
President Tsai expressed her gratitude towards Chang at a press conference ahead of the 2023 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting on Friday (Nov. 10), commending his efforts to increase Taiwan's international visibility and forge further cooperation with other economies in attendance.
President Tsai exhorted Chang to convey key messages at the conference, encapsulating Taiwan's dedication to fostering peace and prosperity in the region.
She pointed to Taiwan’s determination to build a resilient supply chain in collaboration with other nations, push for a green transformation, and minimize digital disparities among member economies while utilizing digital transformation as a driver for economic progression.
In Chang's speech, the TSMC founder agreed to accept this responsibility, promising to make utmost efforts in the direction set forth by the president.
