TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Benefiting from high ticket prices and an upsurge in overseas travel, major Taiwanese airlines, including China Airlines, EVA Air, Tigerair Taiwan, and Starlux Airlines, reported record revenues for October and the first ten months of the year.

Starlux Airlines achieved a monthly operating income of NT$2.087 billion in October, its third-highest monthly record.

China Airlines experienced a monthly increase of 7.85% and a yearly increase of 28.56% in October, totaling NT$16.076 billion in revenue. From January to October, the airline's cumulative revenue rose by 23.62% to NT$153.6 billion.

EVA Air reported a 6.8% monthly and 46.57% annual increase in October revenue, reaching NT$17.525 billion. Its year-to-date revenue saw a growth of 48.14%, amounting to NT$163.824 billion.

Tigerair Taiwan recorded the most dramatic growth. Its October revenue climbed by 13.7% from September and surged by 1040% compared to the previous year, reaching NT$1.22 billion. The airline's revenue for the January-October period showed an astounding 1738% annual increase, totaling NT$10.269 billion.

The industry anticipates this revenue trend will persist as flight operations continue to resume, spurred by the leaf-viewing and skiing season in Northeast Asia, along with peak travel periods like Christmas markets and New Year's Eve celebrations in Europe, America, New Zealand, and Australia.
