TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Eslite Xinyi Store announced on Thursday (Oct. 19) that it will close its doors on Christmas Eve due to the expiration of its lease.
As a farewell gesture, Eslite Xinyi plans to host a music concert on Dec. 23-24 while offering store-wide discounts of up to 50% on ten thousand items.
The Eslite Spectrum Songyan will pick up the baton as the 24-hour bookstore, with renovations underway to triple its book capacity.
As part of its month-long countdown to closure, the Xinyi store will feature many activities, including a book fair looking back at the past 18 years, author lectures, music, and handicraft sessions.
Moreover, the Eslite group stated that the traffic at its Spectrum Store in Hsintien, the largest in Asia, has surpassed one million since its opening in late September.
The new Hsintien store is expected to take over as the highest-grossing storefront under the company's banner.
