TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) has announced that it will increase its passenger capacity between Friday (Sept. 28) and Mon. (Oct. 2), spanning five days, to accommodate the rise in travelers for the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.
To date, THSR has sold nearly half a million tickets. Most in demand are the southbound trains after 8 a.m. on Sept. 28 and before 5 p.m. on Sept. 29, while the northbound trains are busiest after 8 a.m. on Oct. 1 and before 8 a.m. on Oct. 2.
To better serve passengers, THSR has posted "Ticket Sales Information" on its website, which displays the status of reserved seat sales. Travelers can check it out to avoid peak time slots and ensure a smooth journey.
THSR further stated that if the number of unreserved seating increases, they will activate a passenger diversion mechanism at stations to help make the travel more rapid and smooth. If necessary, the company will also enforce crowd control measures.
